ABSTRAK
Literasi merupakan keterampilan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap siswa dalam mendukung pembelajaran dan pengembangan diri. Namun, di SMP N 1 Bumiayu, budaya literasi masih tergolong rendah, terutama dalam keterampilan menulis dan membaca. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan literasi siswa adalah melalui penyusunan majalah sekolah sebagai media publikasi karya mereka. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada siswa dan guru dalam menyusun majalah sekolah sebagai sarana peningkatan literasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini meliputi pelatihan jurnalistik dasar, pelatihan desain dan tata letak majalah, serta pendampingan praktik penyusunan majalah sekolah. Program ini dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahapan, yaitu pelatihan teknik menulis berita, opini, serta wawancara, pengenalan aplikasi desain sederhana, penyusunan rubrikasi, hingga penerbitan edisi perdana majalah sekolah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme dan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam proses pembuatan majalah sekolah. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan kemampuan menulis dan berpikir kritis siswa, serta munculnya semangat kolaboratif antaranggota redaksi. Dengan demikian, pelatihan dan pendampingan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi siswa serta dapat dijadikan program berkelanjutan di sekolah.

ABSTRACT
Literacy is a fundamental skill that every student must possess to support learning and personal development. However, at SMP N 1 Bumiayu, the literacy culture remains relatively low, particularly in writing and reading skills. One effort to improve student literacy is through the creation of a school magazine as a medium for publishing their work. This community service program aims to provide training and assistance to students and teachers in compiling a school magazine as a means of enhancing literacy. The methods used in this program include basic journalism training, magazine design and layout workshops, as well as hands-on guidance in producing the school magazine. The program was implemented in several stages: training in news writing, opinion pieces, and interviews; introduction to simple design applications; rubric development; and finally, the publication of the first edition of the school magazine. The outcomes of this program include the publication of the school magazine's inaugural edition in both digital and print formats, the formation of a student editorial team, and the development of a simple journalism module that can serve as a guide for students and teachers in managing the school magazine. The results of the activities show the enthusiasm and active participation of students in the process of creating the school magazine. In addition, there has been an increase in students' writing and critical thinking skills, as well as the emergence of a collaborative spirit among editorial members. Thus, this training and mentoring are effective in improving students' literacy and can serve as a sustainable program in schools.
